Mikaela Hewitt started Window Nook Stories in 2024 as an outlet for her passion of writing. She has been crafting stories since she was young, starting with self-illustrated picture books for school. Now she seeks to share the stories she loves with her community.

Though trained in the field of Criminal Justice, Mikaela has since pursued a career in the equine industry. She currently works as an Assistant Barn Manager at a private dressage barn, also providing therapy services for the equine residents. She finds joy in working with horses and a variety of other animals, and she loves chronicling the little adventures of the critters she loves.

Her passion for animals extends beyond work into her personal life, as she has four horses of her own, in addition to cows, cats, chickens, and a German Shepherd named Kitty. She enjoys pursuing an old-fashioned lifestyle, learning homesteading skills such as baking/cooking from scratch, gardening, and preserving the harvest.

Though she has a fondness for a simple way of living, she also has a love for science fiction stories. From Jules Verne to Star Trek, she enjoys reading and watching shows and films that spark her imagination. She hopes that her experience in the old-fashioned present and her excitement for the sci-fi future will come through in her writing, all the while seeking to glorify God in her work.
